iOS music plays albums on random. Please make it stop!
I have an iPhone running iOS14 and an iPad2 running iOS 9.
Under iOS 9 there was never an issue. Say I’m playing some songs on random and then I decide to listen to an album. I go to it and decide to start by hitting a particular track. Sensibly, iOS 9 doesn’t interfere with the album tracks order, it just continues to play the tracks sequentially from my starting point. Just as they would have been played if I’d listened to a CD.
If I do the same thing on my iPhone, iOS 14, it’s assumed that I want to hear the album tracks randomly. Can I point out here that musicians spend a great deal of time when putting an album together working out the order of play. Could the software designers please bear this in mind? Because somewhere between iOS 9 and iOS 14 the software developers somehow decided that I want to play the album on random, whenever I start from a track that isn’t the first one. But I never did, and judging from responses to similar topics, I don’t think many others want it to be the way it is now, either. Why should I have to fiddle around with 3 dots just because someone somewhere decided to tinker with the way things were?
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Apple software designers, would you mind untinkering what you tinkered with, please? Thanks.
