Where I work the LTE service it terrible and I have to disable it to use 4G. After installing iOS 15 I no longer have the option to do that which makes my iPhone 11 Pro Max unusable. Is there a way to do this I'm not aware of in this version of iOS?? Also whoever decided to change this is a bonehead.

I am highly irritated at this subject this morning as well. At my workplace, and even some areas in my community, nothing will load on LTE. For the last two years, I have made it habit to leave my phone on 4G unless I am near a big city with good LTE service. I installed the iOS 15 update last night, and now today my phone is essentially useless at work. Not only is it an inconvenience because I cant use any apps that use data, it also bothers me thinking that my pregnant wife might not get a hold of me immediately during an emergency. Apple really needs to quit taking things out of their OS updates without letting the end user know before installing.
In some areas of the building it connects to 4G and I get full signal, but then it randomly for to “5Ge” and the signal drops to 1 bar.
My phone still connects to 4G and works in certain areas too. And on 4G, it works better than it does on LTE. But it won’t stay on 4G like it would if I had the option to turn lte off
Plus carriers don’t want you to be able to decide, which is why they removed the switch.
Its part of their congestion management protocols.
You can argue all you want about it here. But, as has been explained, this feature is determined by the carrier. So, take it it with them.
worst idea ever we need a new update that allows us to switch back to 4G please it is not the carrier it’s switched with the 15 iOS not because the carrier turned it off

It did not happen till the minute i went to ios 15+
Because the carrier updates are applied when you update iOS.

The photo is to show that at the same location, when it goes to 5Ge the signal drops and when it switches to 4G I get full signal. so since there’s no Turn off LTE tab, I can’t control it.
As US carriers are known to live in the dark ages I’m sure you are.

They literally told me this new update would fix that. 10000000% waste of my time!!!!
