All of a sudden I no longer have an edit function to delete, move or flag an email in apple mail. I have an older imac. Any ideas? I can now only delete each email one by one. I can no longer drag an email to trash, junk or a folder either. This just started.

The older Mac has which OS being used , are you upgrading and updated it , run safe mode How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support
Right click on each mail and click delete , you can't drag and drop email to trash is drag and drop feature enabled in Mac Change Mouse & Trackpad preferences for accessibility on Mac - Apple Support
If still it doesn't work delete the accounts and once again configure Add or remove email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support
