iPad and iPhone are not pairing

Hi I would like to use airdrop but my iPhone 11 and IPad mini are not pairing. They pick up my devices but they reject each other. Meaning they won’t connect or pair. What do I need to do to Make them pair. I purchased them at different places.

Phone and iPad do not pair.
