Remove HomePod mini from home app

my homepod mini got fried in an electrical surge. when i tried to power it on i got flashing orange light and siri said she could not connect to the internet. i replaced it and now can not remove the original homepod from home app. How do I remove the original HomePod mini if it doesn’t work and I no longer have it. Home app said 1 device not responding. When I tap on that it says make sure HomePod is powered on and connected to the internet. I have no option to swipe or tap on this message to remove the device.

It needs to be removed from your iCloud account. You can do this on iCloud.Com or on your iOS device:

Open the settings App - Your Name - scroll down to your device list - locate the HomePod and tap > Remove

Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in - Apple Support
