My iPhone 13 Pro will not connect to WiFi

I just activated my 13Pro and had the same issue of LTE rather than the Wi-Fi icon appearing on my phone…while settings indicate I am connected to my home Wi-Fi and I was connected to the internet on my phone. After reading these threads (exhausting all of the plausible options I knew to try) I realized I have Norton….turning off the VPN did not do the trick but uninstalling the app did.

For you and anyone else who solved it by deleting VPN app & profile, most likely the problem was transferring content from a previous phone, including the VPN profile, which was specifically configured for the previous phone, not the new phone. Once you have deleted all VPN settings and restarted you can probably reinstall VPN, however, you really don’t need VPN on an iPhone except to connect to a business or school private network.

SOLVED! (for me) I deleted McAfee Security on my new phone. It wasn’t able to update without Wi-Fi and was causing the VPN toggle on/off repeatedly in Settings. Once I deleted it, everything was fine. 😅

Bought my I phone 13 pro three days ago. Everything was working fine. Last night I started noticing the VPN twitching as well. My the afternoon, the phone stopped recognizing the wifi. In addition, I couldn't browse the internet or upload any posting on social media. I still received notifications and receive facetime calls. I tried every single fixed to no avail. Lastly I deleted my VPN and voala! Problem solved. Definitely a bug. Very dissapointed with this phone, I expected a way better performance. My son has the simple Iphone 13 and he hasn't have any problems, yet.

This solved the problem for me. I just upgraded from an 8 Plus to a 13. My VPN was stuck in a loop trying to constantly connect, only to disconnect again. I deleted the entire VPN from my phone and then turned the wifi back on. It immediately worked after that.

I had tried everything also. Saw about deleting VPN but thought there was no way that that was the issue because I hadn’t even activated it since getting this phone. But sure enough, I deleted my VPN and voila, it worked instantly. VPN obviously embeds in network when installed. Try it.

SOLVED! I think I solved this! Go to the WiFi connection where you see all the settings for the router you’re trying to connect to.

all the way at the bottom, look at Configure Proxy. Mine was set to Automatic for some reason.

I turned it off and now I’m connecting at full speed.

I have faced this issue and tried standard workarounds but in vain. Incidentally, it started working after turning-off my VPN connections forcibly; I noticed that very option was toggling between connect and disconnect.

Settings -> VPN -> VPN Configurations -> Status -> Turn-Off/Switch to Not Connected forcibly.

After forcibly helping it to disconnect i was able to connect back to WiFi.

I do have a VPN software installed on my mobile.

Deleting the VPN application (Norton) worked immediately. I had just upgraded from an XS to a 13 Pro. The XS worked perfectly, but the 13 Pro would NOT connect to my router (Netgear Nighthawk). I had been working on this problem for 2 days. This was the solution. Thanks!

Hello, I had the same problem (iPhone 13 pro max), shows connected in the settings but no wifi icon or connection whatsoever. I used data for half a day but when I got I really was a problem because I have no data in my appartement. Anyway, I tried nearly everything like resetting the connections to default and stuff but in my case the real problem was PROTON VPN (I really like this vpn tho) my explanation is that the vpn is constantly working in the background, even if you close it with the swipe up thingy, and when it is compromised, it block any wifi connection. The exact moment when I got this problem was when was in on a slow public museum Wifi and I tried to connect proton vpn, it didn’t managed to connect to us server at first and I tried a second time but it got stuck trying to connect, I didn’t pay attention and close the app but it was running in the background even after restarting my phone so I deleted proton vpn and my WiFi came back instantly.

If it is not the problem try a factory reset and if it also doesn’t work I guess there is a problem with your motherboard..

I tried all of these fixes with no success. Then I noticed that my AVG VPN keep flashing on and off like it was trying to connect. It has caused connection issues before, so I removed the app from my iPhone 13, and the WiFi was working again with no problem. You may want to add that fix to your list of solutions.

I had the same problem on new iPhone 13 with Xfinity mobile. I had no WiFi symbol with flashing VPN switch. Solution: Turn off VPN.

It is not sufficient to just turn off VPN. You must also delete any VPN profiles and the VPN app itself, because they insert themselves into the IP “stack” even when turned off.
