My iPhone 13 Pro will not connect to WiFi

It shows it’s connected in settings, but doesn’t display the wifi symbol at the top of my screen, and when I try to open certain apps, it says I’m not connected to wifi. I’ve tried EVERYTHING on the troubleshooting list!

Help!

I had this exact problem - both on my Iphone 8 and my new Iphone 13.

It was one of the reasons I upgraded my phone - because I thought the 8 was messed up.

Looks like the VPN settings from my 8 were transferred to my IPHone 13.

Found that VPN's were enabled on my IPhone 13.

Went to Settings, General, VPN & Device Management

Then selected each VPN and deleted it.

That instantly allowed connection to my Wi-Fi - which hadn't worked for one week.

I have tracked the issue down to the phone. I used my old XS side by side with the 13 Pro and had no problems with the XS on the same wireless network.

My iPhone13 Pro does not see wireless and does not display wireless icon.

In Settings —> WI-FI the VPN switch is flashing or “twitching”.

No WiFi icon to the right of the notch. But, when I remove the SIM card, it does allow me to browse websites in Safari. When I put the SIM card back in, it seems to get “confused” and slow for the same activity.

When I transitioned to the new iPhone13 several apps did not download fully and when I tap on them I get a “try again later” pop up.

OMG reading this thread is as if you all have been living MY PERSONAL IPHONE NIGHTMARE for the past 48 hours. Not only is it frustrating to drop a grand on what is purported as the latest and greatest Iphone 13, but the worst part is explaining to countless Verizon and Apple support staff what my problem is only to be condescended with "Did you try [fill in the blank]" for which I reply "Yes about a dozen times" only to have them tell me to try again. And one Verizon tech said "Oh your WiFi is working but sometimes on the Iphone 13 the Icon just doesn't show up". To which I screamed from the highest mountain "MY WIFI IS NOT WORKING!!!". And then after being inspired by this thread, which gave me confidence that I was NOT crazy, I started messing around with the VPN. Not just the turn on/off but I found VPN settings somewhere else [I can't remember now] but when I toggled, MY WIFI STARTED WORKING!! I'm sorry I can't be more helpful and I'm truly afraid if I push the wrong button again I'll lose WiFi again which is sad considering the Iphone 13 cost. But I did order a replacement phone before I solved this problem. Now the big question is, should I set up the new phone hoping for the best, or just keep this one?

Just out of the blue, my iPhone 13 pro wouldn't connect to my wifi, even as it showed it was on and connected. No VPN's here. I reset my network settings on the phone and haven't had an issue. We'll see if it holds. iPad was having no issue, or any other devise in my network. If my phone shows I have wifi, why wouldn't it be connected? And if not, why didn't it switch over to the carrier? Frustrating that I could unknowingly be missing out on something important. Never had these issues before. Using a fairly new wifi 6 router, set to WPA2/WPA3 for older devise compatibility.

I also have the same problem connecting my iPhone 13 max pro to the Wi-Fi. I can’t get the phone to actually connect to the Wi-Fi. If I turn off the VPN and turn on Airplane Mode and then turn off Airplane Mode the phone will connect for a microsecond and then go to 5 or 4G and not let me download or use the Internet. It is extremely frustrating.
When my iPhone 13 connects for a microsecond it cuts off my wife’s iPhone 13 pro from the Internet. As such we both end up without a connection. That makes it doubly frustrating. Still looking for a solution. Any suggestions?

Delete the VPN app and its profile entirely. VPNs are a current very popular myth. The create all sorts of problems, and solve NO problems. It is a mystery to me why anyone uses them, other than to access an internal business or school network, or to protect an activist in a country with a repressive government. And even for them there are better solutions, such as TOR, or Apple’s new Private Relay feature in iOS 15.2.

So, I also purchased a brand new Apple 13 Pro with all belts and braces, did exactly what I was asked to do in order to upgrade and transfer my iPhone 6s to the new iPhone 13 Pro. The result is no wi-fi, nor ability to download from icloud, apart for ~ 0.5seconds each time I try to connect. I have the same connection stays as the previous writer. So, I am so so seriously fed up with this. I am a University Professor of Microtechnology and so not totally stupid. It ought to be easier than this. I have reverted back to my old trusted 6s which still works fine, and will be requesting a refund on my iphone13Pro, and all the accessories. Its not like it was £100 etc

You clearly didn’t read my post or the link in it. If you did you should say what you disagree with rather than make sweeping (and incorrect) statements on what Apple does or should or shouldn’t do.

iOS has no problem supporting quality VPN if you install and manage it correctly. But VPN profiles alter the protocol stack in iOS, so any errors in installation are likely to break something. The most common problem is caused by migrating from one phone to another including the VPN configuration that was customized for the previous phone, and is incompatible with the new. Removing the VPN and reinstalling it should fix that.
