I purchased a tv for my camper but movies I purchased and downloaded from Apple to my iphone will not play via the hdmi connection. I get an error message stating “There is a problem loading this content.” Can anyone help me solve this problem?

Greetings Orion111,

We understand that you have your iPhone connected via HDMI to your TV and are encountering an error playing content downloaded to the TV app.

Have you had a chance to see if the content plays OK without being connected to your TV? Is your iPhone mirroring the display to your TV in other situations? We want to start to rule out the adapter and cable as part of the issue.

Thank you.

My connection is fine. It mirrors just fine. It play personal videos just fine. It plays videos downloaded from other sources just fine. Itunes movies give either the “unable to display this content” error message or displays the spinning graphic forever. The latest info from Apple is that itunes videos have copyright protection which prevents them from being viewed on an external television. All I want to do is mirror movies on my iPhone to a tv set in my rv. One workaround is to buy another apple tv but this would require I use my generator to provide 120v to power it. My phone and tv operate on 12v. Most of my rv time is spent off grid with no cell service.

I feel I have bought a dead horse. Actually, many dead horses. It will certainly be the last movies I purchase from itunes.

Super frustrated.

Orion111,

Thanks for confirming the adapter you're using. The last two things we can recommend are testing with another HDMI cable and test using different TV to see if there is any change.

You mentioned having already worked with Apple on this matter and they are of course the experts. They may have already had you work to isolate these components. If so, no need to repeat the steps.

Thanks.

I think I’m at a dead end here. Everything works great except itunes movies. Needless to say, I will never download another movie from iTunes.

I cannot be the only one experiencing this issue, yet Apple apparently doesn’t give a ****.

Disappointed to say the least. As a user I’m totally frustrated. As a stockholder, I’m ******.
