The Stand Activity on watch is not accurate.

I stand for minutes (I timed it with a timer) and it does not accurately count my stands. I turned of stand reminder in apple watch app on my phone, and turned it back on and it still has not gotten better. I put watch on at 5:30 AM and have stood 4 times for a minute (timing the minute) and I only have 2 stands on the watch. Something is NOT RIGHT! ANNOYING !

Stand may be a slight misnomer. You have to move your wrist wearing the watch as well. In fact, I have found out that is more important than actually standing. If you stand perfectly still, as you point out, it will not reregister. Also, you have to stand for at least a full minute in one hour and you only get credit once for that hour.

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.

This is a quote from Apple Support website;

The Stand ring shows hours in which you've stood and moved for at least a minute. Complete your daily Stand goal by standing up and moving around for at least 1 minute during 12 different hours in the day. Even if you stand all day, you still need to move around.

The minute that you stand and move around can be anytime from 1 minute after the hour until 1 minute before the next hour.

If you have stand reminders turned on then if you haven't stood yet in the current hour then the watch will remind you to stand at 50 minutes past the hour,this gives you 10 minutes in which to stand and move around before the next hour starts.

The Stand Activity on watch is not accurate.
