install carplay on ipod touch

I got a new car (2021 Hyundai Ioniq plug-in hybrid) and the USB won't recognize my 7th gen Ipod Touch. I can only play it by Bluetooth which sucks because not only does it not show the album covers and the titles lag, but it can only be controlled fully by the device itself. This is dangerous for driving. I want to control it from the car screen. The car has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Is there a way to connect the Ipod so that it is controlled by the car radio?
