iPhone SE brand new apple pay
I setup my new iPhone SE and the Apple Pay function does not work. It tells me to hold my device near the car reader but it doesn’t connect and I have to use my cards.

I setup my new iPhone SE and the Apple Pay function does not work. It tells me to hold my device near the car reader but it doesn’t connect and I have to use my cards.
The side button when pressed twice makes the screen go blank. Go to wallet it lists the cards select the one to pay with rest finger on home button it says put near to device and then nowt happens. Has the phone been setup wrong?
Cheers for your help I rang support and the think there might something wrong with the nfc connection so I am going to a genius.
Did you double-click on the side button and select the card you wanted to use.
It’s an SE when you tap the side button it turns the phone off. You select the card by the drop down and the select the thumb to activate the card - hold near the device and nothing happens.
As I said before you double-click (rapidly) and then select. What drop down are you referring to?
You aren’t double clicking fast enough.
Are you sure that function is for the SE 2020 UK version? The help guide says it’s for facial recognition phone only.
Have you tried double-clicking the home button instead?
