The three dots so close to the URL bar is a major BUG! Why does Apple have to jam this down everyone’s throat? Just find a way to disable it and make folks happy. I have no interest, whatsoever, in this functionality that you view as important. It’s a major PITA and if you overshoot the URL bar, you waste keystrokes and time getting rid of it.
No, I haven’t had your post edited - as this is not something that I or other end-user contributors can do.
I can only speculate that your post transgressed the Terms of Use that govern participation within these Support Communities - and that the Apple Moderator’s responded in a manner they consider to be appropriate.
As a point of reference, a link to the ASC ToU, to which you agreed in creating your account here, can be found at the bottom of this and every page within the Apple Support Communities.
I’d like to turn them off. They are affecting the usability of my ipad. I’ve had to switch out my ipad from my home studio setup because the three dots interfere with apps that I use. Just let me turn off the three dots please. They are worthless—and in fact deleterious—for what I bought the IPad for.
I can’t stand those dots! Multitasking worked just fine without them in iPadOS 14. They are so unnecessary. And they’re always in the way when I’m trying to close a tab in my browser.
incredible that they designed it like this.
Those 3 dots are the worst UI error apple ever did, so hard to even close a browser net to that coz they are on the way, check this video how bad it is https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XkX1L3roEtI, the QA team who passed this design haven’t don’t any field testing for a actual feedback before letting this out…
I can’t count the number of times I touched these dots by accident by now… Why should end users have to appeal to Apple to opt out of unwanted “upgrades”? I am not going to, because I rather choose to leave Apple as customer (which I have, typing this message on my last Apple device).
Each update either half my apps won’t work because “app developers should follow Apple updates”, or new features are introduced that block or hinder use in general. Enough is enough.

Apple —how many negative reports do you need before you listen to your community??
As Apple doesn't read here in this community for feedback or suggestions, there is no way to answer that. If you really want Apple to listen and your complaint isn't just performative, use the feedback link given above.
For all those that continue to protest about iPadOS15’s implementation of multi-tasking, here is an exceedingly good visual explanation of how to properly use this feature:

You don't .
It is used for multitasking . I read about " Use Multitasking on iPad " and checked
"accessibility preferences " , no dots information to be found . I agree with the others
replies ~ I always hit it when I rename a document .
Remove them!!! This i-device is mine and I prefer to have it designed for the end user, me, not what you like.
Listen to your users.
Those are annoying and we keep tapping them instead of what we intended.
If you force us to accept annoyances like that, we _will consider alternative choices where you do not profit off us.
"We" are all the devices I purchased for family and business associates.
Get a grip on reality - "we" is not the problem. Your stupid dots are. "We" don't even use those choices they give!
If you insist on having them, put them at the bottom of the page — bottom left is best where "we" rarely touch.
imobl,
Rant??? Your first response to me was the rant about "we", etc. as well as this one.
I was making suggestions and apparently you don't want to make it better for your consumers. And, it's true, they are stupid dots if that is what you're complaining about. Stupid because you did not do a consumer quality control to ensure that is what they want. Stupid because they serve no added purpose except to get in the way when we try to tap the url bar.
Gone are the days we can speak with a manager or director to get action.
Hello ~ You need to understand “we” are not Apple but fellow users just like yourself and we volunteer our time to help here. We have given you the link to contact Apple with your feedback and getting upset here does nothing to change the facts…the dots are there and will stay there until Apple changes it.

Which part of "This is a user-to-user forum. You're addressing no one but your fellow users. We don't design anything for Apple" is unclear?

I think you're confusing me and imobi. We are not the same person. And, neither of us work for Apple.

You are not our consumers. Or our customers. I'm a grants administrator. My "customers" are university faculty.

Have you actually contacted Apple? You can use the "Get Support" link at the top right of every page of these forums. However, even if you talk to a manager, that doesn't mean that Apple is instantly going to leap into making a significant change in how iPadOS works just for you.
To all who answered,
Why is this forum under "apple.com" and using volunteers that cannot send us to the proper place to get action from Apple? That is misleading.
Really? Volunteers for Apple when the executives are extremely wealthy and refuse to pay those offering advice?
How about explaining that right off and giving us a direct link to where we can contact Apple to get action? The "Get Support" link is a page where you spend precious time trying to find the right place. Even then, I don't trust that our messages will get to the people who can make a decision,.
