hello, a while back half of my contacts got removed. I had iCloud backup turned on but see only one backup save which was yesterday (I haven't gone anywhere near that iPhone in a week and it's been disconnected from the internet). Would like to know what happened and if I can recover all contacts lost?

If you were syncing Contacts with iCloud, have you checked iCloud.com/Contacts using a browser to see if the Contacts are there? If you were syncing Contacts to iCloud, try going to iCloud.com/Account Settings, then under Advanced at the bottom left, select Restore Contacts.
