Picture freezes audio keeps working fine. The picture UN freezes runs in fast forward catches up then run fine until it happens again

Just to let you know my problem is solved. After talking to Telus support. They couldn't help me because I was using a modem other than their own even though it was just for the Wi-Fi part. I was using port bridging and that's a no no for Telus.

The problem is that I was using another modem other than the one provided by Telus is what was causing this image freeze problem. I hardwired my Apple TV 4K directly to the Telus modem and all is now OK like before.

Unfortunately, I will have to do without the higher speed of wi-fi 6 and the WPA3 security of my ASUS modem.

Oh well, back to square one, I guess.

Last night, I had a stroke of genius. I realized that I had an redundant connection on my ASUS router, I had no reason to use port bridging on the Telus modem since I was only needing my ASUS for fast and secure wi-fi. Now only the Internet port is in use and NOT the WAN port on my ASUS. My Mac Mini M1 is now browsing the internet via a wi-fi 6 connection to my ASUS router and channelled through the hard wired connection to the Telus modem. All wi-fi on the Telus modem has been DISABLED. I did a test with my Apple TV 4K and Optik TV which is also hard wired via it's ethernet port, my freezing problem hasn't reappeared and should be behind me, I will let you know if it comes back. The great news is that my wi-fi can be fast with wi-fi 6 and secure with WPA3 Personal. All is well that ends well.

Yes, when I saw, I had a problem with the wi-fi connection, I went to the store and bought a cat5e ethernet cable to connect to my router and I got the SAME problem. By the way my router supports wi-fi 6.

To answer your question, my Apple TV 4K IS up to date. I have no other subscriptions so I can't say how THEY work. I only know that early in the summer this Telus *** TV or OPTIK TV app was working just fine. I was watching regular TV shows on my Apple TV 4K in my home theater. I had moved my equipement upstaris so I wasn't using my Apple TV 4K to watch TV but the decoder supplied by Telus. When I decided to go back downstairs that is when I noticed my freezing picture problem. I figured that maybe the new software upgrade on my Apple TV 4K is slowing it down.

So my question is, if I purchase the latest Apple TV 4K model with the A12 chip which is faster, could correct my problem ?

No problem whatsoever with youtube, only with my Optik TV app. Something changed during the summer period, it was working faultlessly before. Could it be the TVOS version 15.0 upgrade?
