Thank you for your answer. I have tried to restart both without any success. I have been having this problem for almost a year. I followed the instruction that you provided, unfortunately without success. I found out that other people are having the same problem as me, since there is a thread on this forum posted almost a year ago describing exactly the same problem that I am facing. Even the new update didn't fix the problem.
Basically, when I add my wife, and she accepts the invitation, my profile in the home apple changes automatically my Apple ID for hers keeping my picture in place. It also states that I am logged in media in my Apple ID. When this happen, I loose ownership of the created home. She doesn't get access to our shared home. In the home apple there is no way of changing back her apple ID in my picture for my again. And if I send an invitation for my Apple ID to join home, the invitation doesn't go thru. It is exactly the same bug that seem to affect at least 78 people in the other post that I have mentioned before.
I am frustrated with this problem. Somehow it seems that our apple IDs get tangled when she accepts the invitation. The only way to get ownership of home again I stopped delete everything and start from scratch and not inviting her.
