Bug in Home app when I invite my wife

This is super frustrating. When I try to invite my wife to my home, she gets the invite and when clicking accept it just spins and doesn’t work. And then I somehow lose admin rights to my home and when I look at her account on her phone, her name shows up with my profile pic. Then when I drill down into her details it shows my icloud id. Ultimately it fails to let us share a home. Wires are getting crossed some how and this bug has existed for years. Apple please fix this!

Homekit invite fails and breaks the home entirely I know there has been a LOT of discussion of HomeKit problems on the forums. However, I wanted to share a screenshot along with an explanation, and see if it triggers any new ideas. I recently set up a home to include my Apple TVs, my one HomePod mini, and my Ecobee thermostat. Setup was all very simple and went just fine. However, everything after that didn't. Details that might help are to follow: I am using iCloud family sharing with myself, my wife, and a universal account for my kids iPads. I set up the home on my iPhone 12 on IOS 14.6 using my iCloud account. I then proceeded to invite my wife using her iCloud account that I chose from the "family" list within the "Invite People" list. The invite popped up immediately on my wife's iPad. However, what I clicked accept, that's where things went wrong. Here's what happens: On my iPhone, her icon immediately disappeared from the "People" list. On her iPad, the Home app hung for a long time on "Accepting Invitation". Then, on my iPhone I lost all admin privileges to the home. At the same time, her iPad simply said "There was an error accepting the invitation" The most important bit of this might be in the following screenshot though. After I lose all control of the home, this is what I see when I click on my icon in the "People" list. Notice the part below my name.... what on earth?! It seems like it is accidentally trying to transfer the entire home to my wife's iCloud account, rather than inviting her as a guest?? Has anyone ran into this before? Might this help an Apple engineer that looks at this have an idea of something to look for? The problem only happens between my wife's account and my own. I can add my kids universal account just fine. Yes, before everyone asks, I have rebooted everything and signed out of iCloud and back in and done all of those usual things. Problem sharing Homekit home with my wife specifically I'm having issues sharing my homekit home with my wife. When I send her an invite to my home in the home app everything seems fine until she accepts the invite. On her side the app says it cannot accept the invite. On my side I'm no longer the admin of my home, just a guest. Under "people" I can see my name is still there (hers is gone) and if I click on my picture/name, it shows my name BUT her email adress!? Somehow the accounts link together and leave everyone outside the home... I have tried this from her side aswell, her inviting me, but the same thing happens. I cannot accept, her name is still there but with my email adress. I've tried from different devices (My ipad, her iPad) but with the same result. If I invite my kid everything works just fine... We are both running iOS 13.3.1. I've also tried loggin in and out of our icloud accounts but with no luck. It's really frustrating and getting this going is something I've been really amped about, but this has made me really disappointed..! PLEASE HELP!

My guess is that you'll have to redo your Home app configuration from scratch. In my case, my wife is the Owner and I'm an Admin (see below).
