rfid chip on card does not work for card tap
CARD DOES NOT WORK ON APPLE PAY TERMINALS
CARD DOES NOT WORK ON APPLE PAY TERMINALS
The RF components used for card activation are embedded in the card’s packaging.
Adding the necessary antenna for “contactless” operation would present some manufacturing challenges on an otherwise solid metallic card.
Customer service can be reached through the Wallet. Open your Apple Card and tap more (the three dots)
My Apple titanium card itself will not interact with terminals that do accept Apple Pay AND have the hands free icon ( rfid wave and hand). I have tried the card at CVS and Walgreens and restaurants that accept mobile Apple Pay. Seems the RFID broadcast function is defective. Terminals do not read the card ( tried a “ tap “ and slowly moving the card around the face of the terminal, but will read mobile Apple Pay. The card will work if inserted. New terminals.
Attempted this a 12 or more different locations and vendors. My other Visa card with the mobile RFID chip reads correctly, but not the Apple Card.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks. It is weird that it doesn’t since that is how I activated the card with my iPhone. Also the instructions I received with the new card states it does. Do you have the customer service phone number by chance?
On what card? I presume you mean on a contactless payment terminal?
The physical Apple Card does not have a contactless function; it's not defective, it does not exist.
