LG NanoCell - Atmos is not supported with Apple TV 4K 2021?

The Apple TV is connected directly to the TV using the internal speakers. (No receiver, no soundbar etc')

The TV, Model 75NANO90VNA supports Atmos and Atmos is turned ON.

Playing LG Internal apps plays Atmos without a problem.

Playing Atmos content on a NVIDIA Shield 2019 plays Atmos fine.

Playing Atmos content from the Apple TV will not trigger the Atmos popup.

Atmos is turned ON for the Apple TV.

I've tried moving the Apple TV with the HDMI cable to an LG CX OLED and Atmos content plays fine.

Is it possible that this TV, although claims to support Atmos which was one of her selling points, doesn't support Apple TV's Atmos (From what I've read is Dolby Mat (?) )

If that's the case, how come the NVIDIA Shield has no problem playing Atmos?

I couldn't find other info about it online.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I've gone through that document.

I've also found this discussion which seems relevant.

It looks like all Nano Cell (or at least some) are having some kind of a compatibility issue when trying to output Atmos via the TV speakers when using the Apple TV 4K 2021.

Support went trough the settings, suggested to restart the device and then to bring it for a repair.

(I've tried to connect other Apple Tv devices to the Nano Cell TV - 3 devices with the same symptoms so I'm pretty sure isn't not a specific device issue)

Is there a way to get Apple's formal response regarding this or at least for them to acknowledge the problem?

The issue it easily reproducible on NANO85UNA, 75NANO90VNA and probably other LG NANOCELL models.

Hi Shassosh,

I have exact same issue here. LG 55nano866na + Apple TV 4K 2021.

Using LG build-in apps like Netflix, Disney Plus etc, I got Dolby Vision + Atmos banner,

While Apple TV just got Dolby Vision Banner + NO Atmos banner.

Do you have any updates?
