I have an AppleTV (4K) that when I select to turn off all devices they do turn off but the receiver (Onkyo)
turns back on after 2-3 seconds. If I turn off the TV with the TV Remote it
turns everything off as expected. I tried several CEC setting on the TV and AppleTV but did not fix the
receive issue only stopped other things from working.
Any suggestions?
I had a similar problem with a new Marantz receiver and Appletv 4k. Receiver would turn on from 15 minutes to several hours after turning the system off. Best Buy tried many settings in all components and nothing worked. The last thing they tried was to put Apple TV in always on mode. Their experience is that in sleep mode ATV sends out signals to check on component status that can wake up the receiver. Have not had the problem since.

Onkyo can be a bit peculiar when it comes to CEC.

Thanks for the help but after contacting each device's manufacturer I was basically told sometimes CEC doesn't work correctly with different devices. Really stupid but I have to keep the TV remote out just to turn everything off with 1 button SMH.
I'm having the same exact issue, can't figure it out for the life of me.
