Cord with IPhone 13

What is the purpose of sending a cord with the IPhone 13? One side plugs into my phone or IPad. The other end doesn’t fit anything I own. Why bother with the cord at all?

The other end is a USB-C connector. If you don't have any USB C chargers or devices, you can buy one, or you can use the old USB-A to lightning cable you probably already have.

If you buy a new computer today, it's pretty much guaranteed to have a USB-C port and may very well not have any USB-A ports at all... time, and technology, marches on.
