i’ve been using the 3 month free trial for the last couple of weeks, but i cannot see my profile nor see what my friends play. i signed in and out, restarted the phone, and did all the stuff i saw on the forum, still no change.

You may actually have to subscribe to Apple Music to create a profile., I'm not sure it is available with the free trial.
