If I press '1' on the numeric keypad the timeline disappears. How do I get it back without closing and reopening the project? Thanks J

Thanks for your response. I do not want to hide the timeline. I forget that I am not using Digital Performer, which is an Audio to picture editing software I have used for 20 years, and press the '1' key (which I expect to be a transport command) when I am in flow.

The thing is, it takes so long to return to where I was I have time to look in to it while the project is reopening. I have been using computers since 1983 and I honestly can't remember using a program that allowed me to hide something critical, but not show it.

If no-one knows the answer, I'll plough on trying not to touch the '1' key. But I think that is super whack.

Great screen shot by the way.

Thanks

Joe

Thanks for your response. If I press '1' on the numeric keyboard, the timeline disappears apparently instantly, and playback is not interrupted. I would like to show it again instantly without interrupting playback. Clicking on the "Projects" tab seems to be a bit of a workaround. Not only does the playback stop, the counter needs to be manually re-placed after waiting some time. I watched the beach ball for 3:20 seconds while it appeared to reload the entire 90 minute project. Strange that a shortcut is provided to hide the timeline but not to show it again? Or am I missing something. Thanks
