The new do not disturb in focus

The new do not disturb in focus is BS.

I have DnD on all the time because I don’t like the phone vibrating and screen lighting up when messages come in, but I’d like to check notification in Lock Screen.

Now I’ve updated to the new iOS and when DnD is turned on phone is still vibrating & screen is lighting up when messages come. If I turn them off from Lock Screen then I can’t read any notifications on Lock Screen. If I turn off vibration on silence in haptics it turns off ALL vibration including my alarm. But if I turn on vibration on silence phone is vibrating when messages come even if I have DnD on.

Basically the new focus mode is stupid and doing everything I do not want and I want the old do not disturb back.

Sorry this is not much of a question but more of a rant because I’m quite sure I have tried all different settings out.

I completely share your frustration - why change something that was working so well?!

I've been chatting to Apple Help, as I couldn't believe that I'm the only person in the world who still wants my notifications to come through overnight but doesn't want to be woken up every time by a vibrating phone, but they said there was no way to sort it - ridiculous!

However... I think I may have just discovered a fix!

If you go to Settings > Focus > Do not disturb and set it so that no apps are allowed notifications, then on the same Do not disturb screen scroll down to Lock screen > and switch on Silenced notifications to Show on lock screen. Then your notifications don't vibrate the phone or light up the screen but they will still show on the lock screen if you look at your phone! Happy days! :-)

I do have exactly the same frustration! This new DND is seriously inconvenient and annoying. The previous version is working perfectly fine, I don’t why they changed this way and made things so complicated. I still want to see notifications whenever I’m free but I don’t want my phone vibrates and keep lighting up! Biggest regret so far after updated to iOS 15.

you have return the those ports for MacBooks, kindly return those proper DND mode back.

thank you.

So so glad I found this thread. I thought I had reached the age where I was too old to navigate apple technology already! I’m not even 30.

This is such a frustrating change and I don’t understand why we need multiple focus/DND profiles that all replicate the same settings whilst also restricting options as vibrate/screen light up cannot be changed.

life is difficult enough - these simple things should just be a given! Removing functionality seems crazy.

I have tried the fix - yet to check if it works but just wanted to share that this thread totally validated my recent frustrations SO much. Thanks guys. You’ve helped me regain some sanity this week 😂
