Frame size setting in output exceeds the allowable dimensions of the HEVC codec

Googling this strange error has brought me no joy.

I'm on FCPX 10.4.10 (still on Mojave) and am unable to export my DJI Air 2S's video in HEVC at the original 5K size, though H264 and ProRes work.

Compressor's presets all max out at 4096x2160; attempts to set it to automatic don't help.

From everything I've read, 8K is HEVC's maximum, surely?

Luis is correct. Current versions of the OS and the applications can do 8K HEVC.

I am guessing that may be related to the older OS and/or the older version of FCP and Compressor.

I have to check later to be sure (not at my mac now) but I think one can do 8K.
