Display issue when scrolling with Mac mini M1

Hi everyone,

I have a brand new Mac mini M1 512GB, 16GB RAM connected via HDMI to a Benq3270 monitor. I am finding that when I scroll through pages, there is a slight but noticeable persistence of colour when I scroll. It is most noticeable when I am scrolling through a page when there is a bright colour such as blue on a white background. It occurs at 4K, 1440P and 1080P and with both HMDI and USB-C connections.

I have contacted Benq about this but wondered if it was a Mac issue rather than a monitor issue

Any suggestions

Thanks

Kevin

You're welcome.

Shame on Benq for not suggesting that when you contacted them. They should know what High Dynamic Range settings are best for Movies, Videos, Games and everyday desktop computer work.

The only other thing I can think of at this point, is that some display panels are more susceptible to Image persistence (retention) than others.

For some examples,

As a test, I would set the display to sleep after 5 min. of inactivity and use a plain or less brightly colored background to see if that helps.
