Hairline crack on MacBook Air m1

I had recently bought a MacBook Air M1 and was using it for school. One day I was at home doing my homework when I see a tiny hair on my screen so I tried to remove it with a microfiber cloth but I wouldn’t go away so I thought it was a scratch until the next day I saw that it had spread when I made sure that it didn’t have anything in the keyboard or screen. So I used a torchlight and saw that it was a crack on the LCD screen. My concern is that will the crack spread and damage my computer more. I have applecare+ but I still don’t want to waste money on it if it isn’t that serious. So will it spread and damage my computer more or will it just be fine. I just bought a padded laptop transport case but still, better safe the sorry.
