GMT Face Issue?

I’m a pilot with a brand new Apple Watch SE. I use the GMT face with the intention of having the red hand always show my home of Denver. I just took the watch on its first multi time zone trip and it seemed to work well until today. I woke up in Los Angeles and the times on the watch were correct.I took the attached picture in my house, 20 miles north of Denver when I got home. The white hands have the correct local time, 4 pm. But the red hand shows 5 pm (1700). That would be correct if I was still in LA but I’m not. Any thoughts?

Hello, HDwayneS. Thank you for posting your question to the Apple Support Communities. You’ve come to the right place to get help with your Apple Watch. We understand that the time on your current watch face does not appear as you would expect. We’re happy to take a closer look to see about fixing this.

We see that you are using the GMT watch face that is included as a built-in watch face. WIth this watch face, you can choose from a list of city names when tracking a second time zone. You can also add a specific city from your World Clock list. To be sure the face is set how you’d like, we would suggest that you edit the watch face to customize the time zone and other features. You can find instructions for this listed in the following Apple Support article:

Customize the watch face - Apple Support

If you have customized the watch face but are still noticing that the second time zone is incorrect, we can help you more. To continue, it may be necessary to add a new GMT watch face to replace the current version. You can easily modify and add new watch faces using the Watch app on your companion iOS device. This last article has more instructions for this:

Change the watch face on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

We hope that the information in this reply allows you to set up your Apple Watch face with the features that you need most. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Enjoy!

Okay, I’ve played around enough to know that this is a serious problem, although I assume easily fixed.

As mentioned above I am a pilot and change time zones frequently. The goal is to use the GMT face, with the white hands showing the current time zone and the red hand always showing Denver time, which is where I live.

When I am flying both the watch and phone are in airplane mode. When I get to my destination and take them out of airplane mode the white hands correctly go to the current time wherever I am, but the red hand always goes to the local time as well (even though the face claims it is showing Denver time). Also, the bezel around the face doesn’t rotate like it is supposed to. If I reboot the watch it comes up with the white hands, red hand, and bezel all in the correct place. But I don’t want to reboot the watch every time I change time zones.

I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the face but no luck. Please fix this error or tell me how to.
