Safari problems after updating Catalina 10.15.7

Ever since updating to mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 and to safari 15 -- safari now has all kinds of problems. Slow loading times, some pages crash and don't load images, others need java script to be toggled on/ off. Is there anyway to fix Safari/ reinstall it or do I need to Time Machine and try and revert it. I know its a browser issue since I tried using Google Chrome and it works just fine. What's wrong with Safari 15 on Catalina?

There have recently been many reports of a broad range of new problems on this support site about the latest release of Safari v15. It is included in the downloads for Big Sur and Catalina. If you are experiencing these problems, you can use another browser such as Firefox or Chrome and they will work for you until a newer version of Safari is released.

I have read here that Apple's support people have a link to reinstall Safari and that doing so often fixes the problem. You might check with them.

yes I’ve read others having the same issue. I tried reinstalling safari 15 and it didn’t help much. Disappointed that I have to use a different browser as all my bookmarks/ etc are all on safari- but had to install google chrome and it’s worked so far without problems. Don’t understand what apple is doing where their own browser doesn’t work well with their own OS.
