Running Catalina 10.15.7 on a Mid 2015 15-inch MacBook Pro. Two days ago I did the security update, and everything seems to run smoothy, except for TextEdit, which now takes 6 full seconds to open any kind of file, even a tiny reminder note... Why?!

Reboot more than once since the update...
Force Quit TextEdit from the >FocreQuit>Text edit.app and relaunch it to test.
If no resolve, try a Safeboot to clear system cache files and reboot as normal to test.

After latest security update, TextEdit takes 6 seconds to open any file!
