Apple pencil changing width mid sentence.

Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? My apple pencil is writing "fat". I'm in med school and need to min-max my time. This ends up being extremely annoying to have to erase constantly for a v expensive product. I'm using OneNote to take notes. I can flip to eraser and then back to pencil for it to write properly. I have tried adjusting writing speed and amount of pressure but that does not change anything.

It does happen with other applications and it happens no matter what pressure I place on the pencil/screen. If I maintain the same pressure it still happens. I can't replicate it consistently though, it just happens after X period of time.

Alrighty. I do not have someone else's iPad to test this with, specifically because the problem is not a constant issue and we're all in med school, we don't have time for me to fiddle on someone else's iPad for extended periods. It happens frequently but not constantly. The update did not solve the problem. Restarting my iPad did not solve the problem. Finally, unpairing and repairing did not solve the problem. Nothing has solved the problem. I am confused as to where to get actual support for this though as I really think my apple pencil is faulty...

Are you experiencing the same behavior with other apps, for example in the native Notes app?

The weight or thickness of the line is determined by how hard you press. Please check this out:

I have been having the exact same issue! Also a med student so I understand the frustration. I haven't put a screen protector on mine so I'm not sure that's the problem. Like you said, it comes and goes without warning and using the eraser usually resets it.

Just wanted to respond so Apple knows this is definitely not an isolated issue. Will look at getting in touch with support but if you find anything out would appreciate if you could give an update!
