If someone was supposed to send their location. How can I tell if it is just a picture are real location?

If the person who sent you their location, it's real see below:

"To quickly share your current location, touch and hold Maps on the Home Screen, then tap Send My Location".

A map will be embedded in either iMessage or e-mail or ... with the location (blue dot).

You can tap on it and use direction to go there.
