I want to take my old phone back to factory settings. I forgot my password and now it says “iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes”. I have it hooked up to my computer and have iTunes pulled up, but it won’t let me do anything

I want to take my old phone back to factory settings. I forgot my password and it now says iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes. I have it plugged into my computer but it won’t let me do anything with iTunes or the phone

You will need to disconnect the phone from the computer, power the phone off and use the following instructions: If you forgot your iPhone passcode - Apple Support
