Apple ID Payments - India

Hi Apple Team:

I am a regular Apple fan for the last 10 years and this last week has been most frustrating for me re: Apple. I switched over from Singapore to India apple store and due to a recent govt regulation for all companies in India, the standing instruction via credit card is no longer allowed. Apple thus enabled the provision of internet banking/RuPay etc. for apple users in India to pay for Apple Pay. This does not appear to me strangely and I have tried to update 5 credit/debit cards but it gets declined.

I spent 3 hours over the last 2 days with Apple support via phone and they couldn't assist me. My banks say it is Apple responsibility that the cards are being rejected and I have tried multiple options i.e. debit/credit/multiple bank cards including adding money to Apple Pay. " Dear Customer, Your recurring transaction on Citi Credit/Debit card ending *** at http://APPLE.COM/BILL on 10-OCT-21 for Rs. 219.00 is declined due to RBI directive on processing of recurring transactions with additional authentication. We apologize for the inconvenience, please use the Citi Bill Pay facility available for select utility providers for continued service. "

Please help as I am on 200GB subscription and every single day I get a notification from Apple that the payment method has been declined and I will be downgraded to 5GB soon and I can't afford to lose the data.

Review this document about what to do "If your payment method is declined in the App Store or iTunes Store" Click here --> https://support.apple.com/HT203005 It mostly just suggests you make sure your payment method is up to date or to try a different one. Apple is probably just checking with the system linking to your financial institution and asking if the payment method is valid. The system is providing a negative response. Make sure the name and address are entered exactly as it appears on your financial institution bills and that the 3 digit CVV is correct. Check with your financial institution about the status of your card.

Make sure this is one of the 'Payment methods that you can use with your Apple ID'; click here --> https://support.apple.com/HT202631 For most people this means a card from the same country as the store you are using.

If you still have problems Click here --> https://support.apple.com/choose-country-region/ Select your country, then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.
