A 9 AM reminder for an all day event is generally useless to me as my day usually starts at 7 AM. A reminder at 9am the day before is even less helpful. How can I change this default time and why is it not obvious how to change it?

No this did not
Try Settings>Reminders>Time. Tap on the time which by default is 9:00 AM and then the scroll wheel pops up where you can change the time.
Sorry, I assumed that you meant reminders. I may be missing something, but I see no way to change the default time in the calendar.
you can go to health app on your iphone,the click on browsw ->sleep ->full schedule & options -> set up your wake up time and sleep time
