Private Relay in iPadOS 15 stops search engine suggestions in safari

I recently updated my iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation) to iPadOS 15.0.2

I have the new Private Relay feature enabled.

I have Google as my default search engine.

In settings > Safari > Search Engine Suggestions is on but when I start to enter text in the address bar I don't get any search engine suggestions. When I turn off private relay search engine suggestions start working again.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

If we understand your post correctly, you have the Private Relay feature enabled on your iPad and have Google as your default search engine but when you start to enter text in the address bar you're not getting any suggestions but if you turn off Private Relay then you get suggestions.
