Apple Slang

As stated in a previous question,

“I don't use words like "gonna" and "wanna". How do I make sure the dictionary only uses proper words?” The answer posted by Apple was not responsive. How can I make, with make being the operative word, the dictionary not use slang? When I say “going to”, it often hears me as “gonna.” When I say “want to”, it often hears me as “wanna.” These are not words I want to use. Apple dictation miss hears so many other words, why can’t it get something like going to and want to correctly?

I noticed a lot of other people are having this issue. This is about the prioritization of words that iPhone or Apple is using. It can be changed rather easily, and I recommend that it be changed. I have been involved in speech technology for over 30 years, and blaming the speaker by saying that it was the pronunciation of the person speaking is not a good answer. So I am going to close with the recommendation that Apple make a change and put the higher usage rating on the proper grammar rather than the slang.

It's embarrassing to dictate without reading classes only to see wanna in my text for my clients. Surely there must be a way to tell my iphone to only use real words

Dictation: Using a dash in punctuation When I use dictation, I use a lot of dashes (“Hi Mom – I’ll see you at the park!”), and while dictation used to recognize the dashes, now it just writes “dash“ instead. It is very frustrating! Does anyone have any idea how to teach it to do better?
