Apple CarPlay vs Apple iPhone 8 plus
I have an iPhone 8 Plus. My new car has Apple CarPlay. My iPhone 8 Plus charging cable will not work with the CarPlay. Is there an adapter I can get to work my iPhone 8 cable?

Hello there,
Based on the information from your post, your software should be capable of running CarPlay.
You shouldn’t need an adapter, as the hardware would already be built in the car. You may just have to plug into a different USB port. I have a Toyota Corolla, and only the USB-A port below the AC controls gives me access to CarPlay. It also wouldn’t hurt to try another cable.
I would try updating your software first, as it seems you’re still on iOS 14, iOS 15.0.2 is the most current release.

If you’ve verified that your car model does support CarPlay, you may want to contact your car manufacturer for support, as they’ll know best on how to set it up and troubleshoot.
Hope this helps!

That’s alright, the information I provided applies for USB-C as well, I was just mentioning the port that works in my car specifically.
Were you able to verify CarPlay support via the manufacturer website or support?
Fortunately my vehicle has wireless CarPlay. I was trying to use my current charging cable but the USB-C is a different size and it will not plug in. I was able to find a cigarette lighter adapter so I am now able to charge my phone in the vehicle. Thank you so much.
Thank you for your response. Unfortunately my vehicle has USB-C which is a different size. I appreciate your time.
