Pencil (gen)2 disconnects when taken off charge and can’t be used???

My new Apple Pencil (generation2) shows connected with 60% battery when attached to the charger. When I take it off the charger it disconnects. I have tried restarting my iPad, forgetting the pencil and trying to reconnect using Bluetooth, but it still shows 60% battery when connected to the charger and disconnects.

Maybe time to search online for your nearest, “local” Apple store location and call contact phone numbers and call to make an appointment to have your Apple iPad and Pencil diagnosed and options presented you.


Failing that,

You need to contact Apple support via the contact support link located at the upper right hand corner of every Webpage of these Apple support communities.


Use the Hardware Repair and Device Performance support categories.

by installing and using the Apple Support app found in the iOS App Store.
