Troubleshooting MacBook Pro Power:

I. Getting this to Be Seen:

Reset the SMC and your NVRAM:

Sometimes when changes are made to the system(i.e. Upgrade), system configurations (i.e. for Ports) become manipulated, technically. So, reset the SMC and NVRAM. Try performing each thrice. It may take sometime, being certain you have the time to perform these resets.

II. Getting this to Charge:

A. Try a New Charger:

If it is charging from an external device, then use a new charger:

B. A Few Links to Refer to Power:

Hi Tick3202,

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Wondering if your Mac is stuck while starting up,

or

whether you were updating /restoring when it happened ?

Apple support have articles online that may help:

Hi again, Tick3202

Thank you for replying and for sharing more info.

If you need support you can:

or arrange with Apple to send it in. https://support.apple.com/mac/repair/service.

  • There is a "Get Support" link to Apple at top right on this discussion page.

OR

If you wish to try further on your own,

  • power off your Mac,
  • remove anything external you may have plugged in
  • plug Mac into power
  • make sure internet is connected
  • try starting up in safe mode,

For safe mode, follow the steps shown in this article:

"If an error occurred while updating or installing macOS"

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212526

After starting up in safe mode,

  • see if the update finishes loading

or

  • continue following install instructions from the above article.

All the best :-)
