Time capsule fan speed A1470
After error message for overheating, I changed the fan. Now the fan is running at 5172rpm all the time.
Airport analyze says bad sensor mask, and bad sensor mask latched. Is there a fix for fan speeding at max?

Unfortunately not in my experience..
I did fix it a number of times but it seemed like the actual fan controller chip was the issue.
There maybe nothing wrong with the original fan.. unless it was stuck or not turning at all.
Certainly a work around is possible. You can disconnect the fan and drive it directly but that is more hard work for very little reward.
I did a major change.. but this is likely beyond what you want to do either.
This is rather long as I added different suggestions as each one failed after several weeks or months.
No fan at all works fine with current case totally removed and using a safe 12v external power supply.
My recommendation would be to hunt around for a cheap but working second hand TC.. not sure in your market but lots and lots selling here. Also lots of AirPort Extreme version which always seem to last longer than the TC.
But it is time to move beyond Time Capsule.. it is a product that ceased production in 2018 and really you would do better putting money into a decent replacement like Synology NAS.
My details are on the website so if you have further questions happy to help out if I can.
Very well done.
And thanks for the pic.. also great for people who have the same issue.. which is fairly common.
I can see the Fluke multimeter at the side in the pic.. blow me down with a feather..
Here is my still mangled TC which is working fine..
The 13.5v is float charge on the SLA battery for UPS
Note Fluke multimeter
BTW I no longer use the wifi in the TC as shown above so the antenna has been removed as no longer required.
It is really more to answer questions here I need to occasionally refer back to the actual device.. as mangled as it is.. I sold off a good one I had while the selling got some rewards.
Thank you very much. I read and understod your repair suggestions. I found that putting ground to ve+ side of the sensor was the ideal one. I did it very simple. Cutting the wire from pin 6 and soldered to pin 5.
The fan speed is now 1637
Sorry for the bad picture, but it's put together.
