How do artists feel about working with different screen sizes of iPads?

I am about to purchase either a 9th gen iPad 10.2" or a refurbished 3rd gen iPad pro 12.9" , mostly for use in image making or animation with strong use of iPad pencil

In trying to decide, with a fairly large difference in price , I feel my main concern is processing speed and drawing comfort in the screen area. I'm mostly a glass artist, but have done a fair amount of photoshop, corel etc. looking forward to moving from mouse and track pad to pencil, but concerned about working space. I wonder what other digital artists think?

As a mostly 2D artist/illustrator, when working on both paper and digital, I prefer to work on as large a canvas as is comfortable to me to work within.

I prefer the 12.9 inch screen of the iPad Pro models, but if I decide to try a get another fully loaded iPad Pro model, I am having a very tough time justifying $2K+ for such a maxed out device and I am considering the 11 inch screen iPad Pro instead, as I can get a larger 512 GB or 1 TB data storage capacity, WiFi and Cellular model with 2nd gen Pencil, cheaper than for the the more wildly expensive 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro model.

Get an iPad with the largest screen you can afford with the largest data capacity you can afford as NO Apple iOS/iPadOS device has ANY expandable internal storage.

You might want to consider the 2020, 10.9 inch screen iPad Air 4 model and not as expensive as an iPad Pro.

The screen is nearly 3/4 of an inch longer on the diagonal from the 10.2 inch screen base model iPads.

I would recommend the largest ipad, the 12.9 inch with some good storage, like 512GB. I have the 1st gen and it still holds well and I love it for Procreate.

As an artists you want to be able to use your hand and shoulder to draw, a mix of both. Small screen tend to favor only hand movements.

I would also suggest a Wacom 24HD (used or new) as an alternative to iPad as an artist.
