Auto lock in iPadOS 15 no longer can be set by user

I had this issue too, but found that turning off Low Power Mode in Settings > Battery took care of it. After that I could change the Auto-Lock timings as usual.

disabling low power mode will fix this. perfect example of “did i forget to mention…?”

It does that only when in low power mode. If you take it off low power mode then you can set it to whatever you want.

Battery saver inforces the 2 minute time out (30 seconds when in low power). Turning off the timeout enables adjustment to this value but if you re-engage battery saver, the value resets to 2 minutes. Seems like a bug or intentional control to predict remaining battery life.

Yes but it would be helpful to tell us. After the latest update low power mode was automatically switched on which meant my iPad auto locked after two mins and I couldn’t change the settings. It has taken some Googling and finding this thread for me to find out what has changed and how to change it back. Why change my setting for me just because of an update??

If your auto lock timeout is fixed at 2 minutes then someone or some profile set it to that. In iOS and iPadOS 15 it is still a ariabe setting, bless someone or some profile sets it to only one option (e.g. an employer email account profile, any managed deployment profile, etc).

Go to Battery under settings, and there you will find "Never"... hope that works for you... :)

If you want to have a button for low Power Mode in Control Centre at the top right of the iPad when you pull down from the corner, you can add it there so you can easily turn it off without having a search for it in settings.

Totally agree- I don't want Focus period... I want total control over my phone, apps, etc. This "new" app should be able to be deleted and the phone restored to its original function, if the user wants it that way. I have missed calls, even when focus was off, sounds were on "phone number silenced"? why? not my choice.... I have shut off "shared across devices" and still it is "ghosting" in the background.... personally, Apple should just get rid of it.....
