When I close my macbook's lid, it fully powers off. How can I work around this?
When I close the lid of my macbook it usually fully powers off. In order to power it on, I need to do an SMC reset. Other times, it will stay on, but when I open it back up the screen refuses to turn on (I know it's on because the keyboard and touch bar are lit up).
Here's what I've tried to resolve the problem:
1 - System Management Controller (SMC) reset
2 - Booted into Diagnostic Mode - ran hardware test; no errors found
3 - Internet Recovery Mode - Disk Utility - First Aid on 'all' devices; all completed successfully
4- Parameter RAM (PRAM) reset
5 - Shut down, Rebooted, successfully logged on to my profile
6 - Full Shut Down; Unplugged Power Adapter; Still fails to boot normally.
Anyone know how I can get around this other than just avoiding closing the computer? It's not worth paying a ton of money because my computer is 5 years old and I don't have the $$ for repairs.
