Cursor jumps to end of field

When filling out information in some text fields - for example the name entry fields on ancestry.com - if I need to add or change something in the middle of the field, I move the cursor to the position needed to add or change what I need to. Then, after typing one letter, the cursor jumps to end of the field. It wasn’t doing this until this last week, and it’s truly obnoxious. I guess my question is, is this a setting that I can turn off? It isn’t happening in this field I am typing in currently. I have attached the following image as an example of what it is doing. I typed Joseph “Jumping Joe” and then realized I needed to add Anthony after Joseph and before “Jumping Joe” and this is what happened. Only the “A” was inserted before the cursor jumped to the end of the field.

I have this problem too, on iPhone, except that it can occur anywhere I type. Could be Notes app, could be while composing an email. In my case, it is not to end of text field, it will jump to an earlier paragraph, or sometimes from the body of email to the subject or address field. It jumps to the middle of an earlier sentence or word, never to the end of a field. Please note: this is while composing a sentence, not inserting the cursor to another sentence. Had anyone else ever experienced this? No one at Apple seemed familiar with this at all. I will look for some of my screen shots on this and post later.
