iphone mail attachments missing

iOS 15.0.2 Mail does not show attachments. Attachment symbol appears but attachment does not appear or available for download. I have to go to my MacBook Pro to see attachments. Any fix? Delete app and reinstall scares me as I have lots of folders and functions that I’d hate to lose.

Mail Attachments won't open – hang in "downloading" Hello, I'm no longer able to download some attachments in Mail. The file says its "downloading..." (see image below), but I can't actually download or save it. I've tried forwarding the message to another account (Gmail) but there's no attachment to open. I've tried Rebuild but there's nothing that says rebuilding is going on in the background (is it?). This inability to download doesn't happen all the time. Someone sent me a jpg from their iPhone and couldn't open it (sent to my hotmail account). Likewise with this pdf (below) - no dice. But I was able to download a Word document sent from within the same (gmail) account. So it doesn't seem to be a hotmail/gmail issue. Any thoughts on what else I can try? I have a MacBook Pro mid 2012, using High Sierra

No Trash in Mail I use the Mail app to manage 6 email accounts. After updating my iPhone 11 to iOS 16.1.1 I noticed one gmail account has no Trash box. If I send an email to Trash it comes back to the Inbox. The only way to get rid of it is to send it to Junk. Is there a way to add (or restore) the Trash box?

Curious, if I forward the email with unavailable attachment to myself, I can view the attachment. Very strange.
