M1 MacBook Air - only charging though one of the two Thunderbolt ports

I used to use both my ports randomly for charging my MBA but all of a sudden, one of the ports stopped working for charging. I changed the port and the other port is working fine but the earlier port is unusable for charging, it is however usable for other stuff like connecting to a phone or data transfer. I found a similar issue in this post: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252476538. I tried restarting several times, one time I did a shutdown and startup with the charging cable on and it detected the charging but as soon as I pulled out the charging cable and inserted it again, it didn't detect it further. I tried restarting several times, tried safe mode, tried running diagnostic (PPP007), nothing worked.
