My MacBook Air Mid 2013 shuts down in sleep mode

Hi! My MacBook started to shut down in sleep mode after the recent update of macOS. Sometimes it even freezes when starting and then needs to be restarted by pressing the power button. SMC reset did not help.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Hello burhan_m,

Based on your post it sounds like you're unable to place your Mac in Sleep mode as expected.

There are a few steps you can take to help troubleshoot.

1. Reset the SMC, as per > How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

2. Unchecking Power Nap in the Energy Saver and disable the ScreenSaver if your using one before Auto Sleep.

3. Test the issue in and out of safe mode. Start up your Mac in safe mode

Keep us updated on the results.

Warm regards.
