why does my airpods randomly connect to my phone while it's in the case and the battery drains. For example, last night I had my airpods in the case on my desk and in the morning I would see them randomly connected and the battery almost dead. This happens pretty frequently, where it'll be connected while in it's case and the battery drains out. The support chat wasn't helpful at all.

Hey there Jawvis,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities about your AirPods connecting unexpectedly. For this issue, make sure your paired phone is up to date. If it's an iPhone, you can use the steps here:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Then reset your AirPods:

Connect again after that and see if this helps. Take care.

I literally have this exact problem. It's extremely annoying to wake up to airpods that are dead, that are sitting inside of a case that has a full charge. It just doesn't make sense.

Even when I realize what has happened, it takes some tinkering to get the case to start charging the airpods again. When I depend on using the airpods for a video meeting, it's very aggravating to then be stuck with dead airpods at the start of the meeting. Now I know each time I have a meeting that earlier in the day I need to check that my airpods are not dead while they are sitting in their charging case.
