sony alpha 1 RAW files don't support

There may be some alternatives to camera maker's software to handle and process RAW file types.

Ideas could be in recent macOS; varies by incarnate version, of course. This can be useful 2+ ways.

Years ago one of my favs [with NK D90s + 3 NK zm & Lumix DMC-FZ1]

a freeware by name of ToyViewer (DL); also edits vid frame-by-frame.

Even so many formats allow to preview on OS X, some formats are not previewing easily.

I have the same problem with my Sony camera mirrorless.

You could use a DAM software to browse through photos. There is one named "PHOTO STUDIO FOR MAC 7" that could help. There is a free demo if you want to try it.

I encountered the same issue and just signed up for Lightroom to solve this.
