10.6 Audio scrubbing using arrow keys now tied to skimming?

Updated to FCPX 10.6 & frame by frame audio playback with the arrow keys no longer plays when audio skimming is disabled.

I use the arrow keys to accurately position the playhead to sync audio & video. Before 10.6 it would play the audio of that frame when the arrow keys were pressed. It now only plays the audio if skimming is switched on. I absolutely HATE audio skimming - it makes me nausious!

Am I missing something or has Apple just messed up my workflow? Looking for someone to tell me I'm an idiot & it's simply a keypress to reactivate this feature.
